What we have delivered

What we have delivered so far in 2022:

  • As of January, we officially rolled over our investment portfolio into an ethical investment strategy
  • Commissioned and completed 2 Student Voice Program reports; one on Disability and one on Blended Learning.
  • Attended and raised student concerns in:
    • Academic Senate, University Learning and Teaching Committee, Student Experience Committee, Technology Enhanced Learning and Teaching Committee, University Research Committee, University Course and Unit Proposals Committee, Standing Academic Committee, and Sustainability Committee.
      • Some of the issues we have repeatedly raised in these are:
        • Student concerns about the University’s new ‘blended learning’ model; the need for active, on-campus, and student-led events; and the need for system change to prevent the dead-naming of transgender and gender diverse students at UTAS.
  • Successfully lobbied UTAS to provide additional financial support to HDR students with stipends
  • Supported the Tasmania University Law Society to fight for better learning and teaching conditions in the Law Faculty
  • Successfully lobbied UTAS to introduce a ‘pulse’ survey so students can raise concerns about their Units earlier in Semester

  • Collaborated with UTAS on IDAHOBIT Day
  • Provided tea and coffee for the Rozelle Campus in Sydney
  • Postgraduate social events: Wine Tour and Sip and Paint
  • Ran over 30+ Shut Up & Write sessions for Postgraduate students
