
Objects and Purposes of the Club/Society
The Environment Society is an inclusive society for students, staff and community members who are interested and passionate about the environment. The Society welcomes discourse and action on all climate, natural environment, and sustainable living. The Society is an active positive safe environment which promotes discourse and values the contribution of all members equally. The Society actively supports the transition of students, graduates, and early careers professionals from all schools in entering the environmental professions through collaboration with professional bodies. The Society is not formally affiliated with any political organisations or institutions.
The objects and purposes of the Club/Society shall be:
- Bring individuals together to enable collaborative positive change.
- Support, improve and enhance the environmental standards of the University.
- Through positive informed and creative initiatives.
- Support the transition of members into the environmental professions
- Discover and facilitate mentoring programs for members
- Raise Awareness of Environmental and social issues on campus.
- Be inclusive and supportive of members diversity
- Encourage continual involvement of new members and new membership of collaborative societies
- Create links and partnerships with the broader community and other interest groups
- Foster constructive, positive relations with the University and TUU
- Host, support, advertise and foster events for members and environmental causes
- Provide a forum for the exchange of ideas through regular meeting of members
- Support inter-school networking on environmental concepts through communications, events, and inter-society representatives
- Encourage student involvement in campus life
